The buzz around Robert Pattinson's involvement in Dune: Part Three started early this year, with whispers of his potential role in the epic sci-fi sequel. Now, Pattinson himself has shed some light on his experience, revealing the intense heat of the desert set.
In an interview with IndieWire, Pattinson shared his thoughts on filming in the scorching desert, saying, 'When I was doing Dune, it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn't question anything. And it was so relaxing, like my brain wasn’t operating, I didn’t have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve]: 'Whatever you want!''.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, Pattinson is rumored to be playing Scytale, a pivotal character in the plot to overthrow Paul Atreides. The cast of the film includes returning stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Florence as Princess Irulan, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides. New additions include Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke as Leto II and Ghanima, the twin children of Paul and Chani.
Director Denis Villeneuve, who helmed the first two installments, has a unique perspective on the upcoming third film. He clarifies that Dune: Part Three is not a trilogy but a diptych, emphasizing that the first book's adaptation is complete. The third film, currently in the writing process, will explore a different narrative, set 12 years after the events of Part Two. Villeneuve assures fans that it will conclude the Paul Atreides arc, offering a fresh and distinct cinematic experience.
Pattinson's next project, Die My Love, a psychological drama directed by Lynne Ramsay, is set for release on November 7. The film stars Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence as a couple struggling with the challenges of rural life and parenthood, adding another layer to his diverse acting repertoire.
As the anticipation for Dune: Part Three grows, Pattinson's insights into the desert filming experience provide a glimpse into the challenges and unique atmosphere of the production. With his involvement in such diverse projects, Pattinson continues to captivate audiences and critics alike, leaving them eager for his future endeavors.
